Total lunar eclipse to happen on December 21 starting at 1:29 p.m. →
After the annual Geminid meteor shower peaked during the overnight hours of December 13 and 14, a total lunar eclipse is set to happen on December 21, reports GMANews.tv.
Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) officer-in-charge Nathaniel Servando told GMANews.tv that the eclipse will be visible from North Africa to western South America as well as here in the Philippines.
According to Servando, the eclipse will begin at 1:29 p.m. Philippine Standard Time (PST) and will end at 7:04 p.m. (PST) on December 21. The report adds that the greatest eclipse will occur at 4:16 p.m. Servando also told GMANews.tv that the eclipse will be safe to watch with bare eyes.
